Congratulations to our Beautiful Winner!
I didn’t have the chance to choose the last winner in our $250.00 contest for an Amazon gift card, but I was happy Jiolanda Kalofolia won the prize. Some people, you remember all your life as kind, considerate while striving to get their life on track and realize their dreams. Jiolanda is one of these women.
To better translate the sentiment into words, I asked Jiolanda to answer a few questions.
We would love to learn a little about Jiolanda Kalofolia. If you wouldn’t mind giving us the highlights of who you are?
Let me start by saying how much I love your books, Joss, and how excited I am to have won this great prize! Thank you so much.
Now, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in Athens, Greece. I studied Economics and then moved to Atlanta, Georgia to continue my studies and work. I’ve completed post graduate education in Risk Management and Internal Audit and have worked for large corporations on both sides of the Atlantic.
Now, I’m back in Greece working as a Risk Manager at a large Insurance Group. I’m married to my soul mate and have a seven-year-old little boy.
When you are not running your career or being a mother, what are your interests?
Reading and writing stories is my passion. I also like taking trips to the beach or the mountains. I like basketball, dancing aerobics, swimming, and I practice Wado Ryu Karate.
Would you consider yourself a creative person?
Like I mentioned above, my passion is reading and writing mystery romance novels. One day soon, I might consider publishing my stories, but I would have to use a pen name in order to avoid any conflicts with my career as an executive.
Supposing this windfall granted you one wish you could snap your fingers and realize. What would that be?
I wish I could have my father back… We lost my mom to cancer years ago, and my father and I have been comforting and supporting each other through excruciating times. Three years ago, my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. It’s devastating, watching him slipping away day after day… I wish his mind would clear from this horrible disease and come back to us.
I realize by reading about your education, and your devotion as a mother that you
value what’s important in life. When do you find the time to write?
I try the best I can, and I set priorities. My family comes first, and at the same time, I try to add value to my company. But I always make time for my passion, even if it’s late at night after my little boy is asleep.
Do you prefer outdoor sports or indoor sports? What is your favorite way to exercise?
I like both, depending on the weather. Dancing aerobics is my favorite.
A turning point in your life presents itself offering a road leading to success and you
get to choose the final destination. What would this be?
A life full of love, harmony, and joy, away from deadlines and stress, doing what I love best: writing novels and traveling around the world with my family.
Best of Luck, Jiolanda!
