Smart and Sexy.
I agreed to review Ali Atwood’s novel, intrigued by the cover and by the title of her story; and I was pleased to find the short novel well written and flowing like water from a brook, clear and sweet.
I haven’t reviewed many erotic novels, perhaps because so far, they haven’t been my first choice in book selection. Yet, when a story is as well-crafted as Christmas Unexpected, you celebrate the fact that Kina Tamar, our heroine, is not afraid to claim the man she wants.
A woman of the future, she is feminine yet strong, as demonstrated through the choices she has made in order to survive and climb the ladder of the prestigious Starfleet. I love her demeanor; I applaud her actions, when unafraid, she seduces the man of her dreams, even though he is the one who delivers the information of an impending investigation against her.
Atwood beguiles us with her vivid characters and great dialogue. The only thing I deplored was that the ending came swiftly. I would have enjoyed more of Kina and Jake. Hopefully, Atwood will make a sequel.
When Ali Atwood is not tied to her desk, wooed there by tea, she loves to go horseback riding and play golf.
